Tempo — Book Finder

Effective 18 October 2026. This policy describes the published extension’s current features, including local processing and any connected Tempo Web services.

What Book Finder handles

When you deliberately choose Find in Tempo from the context menu, the selected text is passed to Book Finder as a search query. You can also type a title or author. It does not scan unrelated webpage contents or retain the source page’s URL. Search results include book titles, authors, narrators, cover URLs and descriptions of available releases. Your chosen search terms, filters and release selection are used to provide the search and download features.

The existing Tempo connection

Book Finder uses the ReadMeABook integration already inside Tempo Web at tempo.hasbreo.com. It has no separate login and does not copy Web login tokens or passwords into extension storage. It uses a connected visible Web tab or embeds that Web application in a background frame using remembered Web sign-in where Chrome permits shared storage. Tempo Web itself handles account identifiers and authentication information, then communicates with your configured ReadMeABook server. Your server may use its configured catalogues, indexers, download clients and library services to fulfil a search or confirmed request.

Storage and retention

The pending selected text, search terms, book/release display results, confirmation state and request status are stored in this Chrome profile’s browser-session storage and live memory so you can close and reopen the popup. They are replaced by later searches or cleared when the browser session ends. An idle background connection closes after about ten minutes; disconnecting resets its live results. A confirmed request is also retained by your server according to its own settings. Raw indexer download URLs remain inside Tempo Web’s integration and are not copied into the extension’s display state.

Network and sharing

Search terms and selections are sent through Tempo Web’s existing integration to your configured server and its necessary search/download services. HTTPS cover images can load from the artwork hosts supplied by book results, without a referring page URL. Artwork, hosting and delivery providers may process IP addresses and request/browser headers to deliver and secure content. Book Finder adds no advertising, analytics or unrelated telemetry. A download request is sent only after you select a release and confirm it.

Your choices

Search only when you choose to, change or cancel a release selection, sign out of the connection in Tempo Web, disable remembered login, or uninstall the extension. Clearing extension data doesn’t delete requests already accepted by your server. Manage or delete those using Tempo Web, the server’s controls or its administrator.

Limited use

Hasbreo uses the data described here only to provide the extension’s stated features. Data is not sold, used for advertising, used to train general-purpose AI models, or transferred for unrelated purposes. Transfers are limited to providing the feature, security, legal obligations or a permitted business transfer.
