Start with your own lineup
The download contains no connected podcasts, accounts or private feeds. Search by podcast or creator to add public shows, or choose + Add RSS feed and paste your own subscriber feed link.
Search uses Apple’s podcast directory, then reads each show’s RSS feed for extra information. Episodes and artwork download directly from their hosts. Private Patreon links are supplied by your membership; keep those links private.
A few minutes of setup. Then let it work.
- Download and extract the whole ZIP. Keep the files together in a writable folder, such as Documents → Podcast USB.
- Open Podcast USB.exe. First launch downloads its Python and FFmpeg tools and checks Microsoft WebView2. You do not need iTunes, VLC or Audacity.
- Add your podcasts. Search or paste an RSS feed, then adjust each show’s filters, title cleanup and artist in its lineup Settings.
- Choose the USB and find episodes. Review downloads, names and the existing files you want deleted.
- Prepare & update USB. Wait for USB ready, then use Windows’ Safely remove hardware.
Windows shows “Unknown publisher”?
This app is currently unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn for a new release. Check that you downloaded it from hasbreo.com. You can compare the SHA-256 checksum above. Choose More info → Run anyway only if you trust this copy.
Earlier versions & updates
The version selector includes the recoverable original releases, with their bundled podcast lists cleared for sharing. Version 0.1 is the early browser edition; later versions use the Windows desktop window. Older versions retain their original behaviour and limitations. The current release stays selected by default.
Close Podcast USB, then replace the program files with the new download. Keep your existing runtime and tools folders. Your subscriptions, filters and history stay in Windows local app data. Updating to this clean distribution does not clear an existing lineup.
Successful builds are published here from GitHub automatically, with earlier versions and change notes in the selector above. The desktop app does not install updates automatically.
Your feeds stay yours
Podcast USB runs on your PC. Searches contact Apple, while feeds, images and media come from their hosts. Subscriber RSS links stay in your local settings and are not included in this download. No Hasbreo login is needed.
Listen only to material your subscriptions or the creator make available to you. Available episodes and download speed depend on the podcast host.
